[Financial News] Samsung Financial Networks selected four startups that combine artificial intelligence (AI) with financial services as top-performing companies. Samsung Life Insurance, Samsung Fire & Marine Insurance, Samsung Card and Samsung Securities Co., Ltd. are considering practical business partnerships with them, including producing educational content, insurance underwriting, overseas travel services and providing investment information.
Samsung Financial Networks and Samsung Venture Investment announced on the 29th that they had held the final presentation for “2026 Samsung Financial C-Lab Outside” at Samsung Financial Campus the previous day and selected four companies—Crabs, Telepix, Innovat and Quantit—as top startups.
A record 395 startups applied to this year’s program. The 17 companies that advanced to the main round in May spent about five months working with business units at Samsung Financial affiliates to validate the commercial viability of their businesses and refine their solutions.
Samsung Life Insurance selected Crabs, which has a generative AI-based video content production solution. It plans to use the technology to strengthen consultants’ sales capabilities and produce educational content.
Samsung Fire & Marine Insurance selected Telepix, an AI-based satellite data analytics company. Telepix proposed a solution that uses satellite data to identify facilities during property insurance underwriting and detect the risk of ground subsidence at large construction sites.
Samsung Card selected Innovat, which provides value-added tax refund services for overseas travelers. It plans to consider expanding the countries where refunds are available and offering the service to Monimo customers.
Samsung Securities Co., Ltd. selected Quantit, a company providing AI agent-based quantitative investment information solutions. It is considering ways to use the technology for non-face-to-face investment consultations and investment signal services for Monimo customers, among other things.
The four top startups will also receive support to attend CES, which will be held in the United States next year.
Park Jong-moon, president of Samsung Securities Co., Ltd., said, “Collaboration with startups that possess innovative technologies and services is essential to responding to a rapidly changing business environment,” adding, “We will support the growth of domestic startups and contribute to revitalizing the financial innovation ecosystem.”
