【Financial News, Namyangju—Reporter Kim Kyung-soo】 Gyeonggi Province’s Namyangju City has secured 460 million won in national funding and will launch an additional cashback program for the Namyangju Sarang Gift Certificate. Customers who pay with the certificate through Nov. 15 can get 5% of the purchase amount back.
According to Namyangju City on the 29th, the program was created to ease residents’ spending burden and boost activity in local commercial districts in conjunction with the 2026 Korea Grand Festival.
Cashback will be issued immediately upon payment. Each person can receive up to 15,000 won. The program will end earlier than scheduled if all the funds are used up.
The cashback can be spent at participating merchants accepting the Namyangju Sarang Gift Certificate. It must be used within three months of the date it is issued. Any remaining balance will expire after that period. Customers can get additional benefits by shopping at Good Price Shops.
The city will provide an additional 5% cashback on purchases made with the certificate at those shops through the end of the year. During the promotion, customers can receive benefits of up to 20%, combining the 5% base cashback, an additional 5% benefit at participating shops, and the regular 10% top-up incentive.
A Namyangju City official said, “We hope this program will ease residents’ spending burden and help increase sales for local small businesses,” adding, “We will work to revitalize the local economy by securing national and provincial funding and introducing a range of policies to stimulate consumption.”
