[Financial News] Amorepacific received the Co-Chairs’ Commendation of the Presidential Council on Intellectual Property, the top honor in the organization category at the 2026 Corporate Intellectual Property Awards.
According to industry sources on the 29th, the Corporate Intellectual Property Awards are a government award program that assesses companies’ achievements in creating, protecting and utilizing intellectual property. Amorepacific was recognized for linking its intellectual property strategy with research and development and for systematically protecting and utilizing its technology and brands.
Amorepacific’s relevant teams, including those in research and development, branding, design and legal affairs, work together to manage its technology and brand assets. The company actively uses intellectual property to strengthen its global competitiveness, obtaining patents for core technologies and proactively securing trademark and design rights for major brands and products. It also operates an employee invention compensation system, provides employee training and runs internal committees to promote awareness of the importance of intellectual property throughout the company.
The company also continues its efforts to protect its brands in global markets. It works with domestic and foreign governments, investigative agencies, customs authorities and major online platforms to block the distribution of counterfeit products and support the authentication of counterfeits and enforcement efforts. Amorepacific uses the intellectual property it has secured to identify new business opportunities through technology transfers and licensing, and supports the transfer and utilization of unused patents and trademarks.
“This award recognizes our efforts to develop intellectual property based on technology and brands into core assets,” said Ahn Jae-seong, head of Amorepacific’s Compliance Management Office. “We will continue to protect innovative technologies and brand value in global markets and contribute to sustainable growth and industrial development through intellectual property.”
