[Financial News] Samsung Electronics said on the 29th, regarding shareholder returns, “We plan to use the remaining funds for shareholder returns through cash dividends and the purchase and cancellation of a substantial amount of our treasury shares.”
At its third-quarter earnings conference call that day, Samsung Electronics said, “Of this year’s total shareholder-return plan of 90 trillion to 110 trillion won, the total amount of shareholder returns executed is 35 trillion won, including returns already carried out and a 30 trillion won cash dividend finalized through today’s board resolution. Taking that into account, the remaining funds will be around 55 trillion to 75 trillion won.”
Samsung Electronics emphasized, “We are discussing a new shareholder-return policy after 2027 to support continued growth and enhance shareholder returns and corporate value. We pledge to actively consider and adjust the proportion of preferred shares to purchase when buying back and canceling treasury shares, reflecting market conditions and taking into account the equal treatment of all shareholders, the maximization of capital allocation, and the enhancement of corporate value.”
