[Financial News] Kolon Benit, the Kolon Group’s artificial intelligence transformation (AX) specialist, said on the 29th that it is holding a technical training program for partner-company engineers, the “Kolon Benit Partner Academy (KOLON BENIT PARTNER ACADEMY),” at its AI Solution Center in Gasan-dong, Seoul. The academy is being held over four days, from October 27 to 30, in collaboration with Dell Technologies Korea, with Nutanix also participating as a sponsor.
Kolon Benit designed the curriculum in collaboration with infrastructure vendors including Dell Technologies and Nutanix, enabling partners to learn about servers, storage, virtualization and operations management in a single program. For the three-day course beginning on the 28th, engineers from Kolon Benit’s technical services organization are responsible for most of the course materials and instruction, sharing with partners the know-how they have gained in implementation and operations. Kolon Benit plans to hold the Partner Academy regularly in line with new product launches and technology update schedules, and to continue expanding its hands-on courses.
On the first day, the 27th, Dell Technologies instructors introduced storage technology strategies and the new products “PowerStore Elite” and “Dell Automation Platform,” and led hands-on exercises based on virtual scenarios using tools such as the PowerSizer sizing tool and a demo center. On the 28th, a Kolon Benit engineer served as instructor, focusing on configuring the Nutanix Cloud Platform to use Dell PowerStore as external storage. With Nutanix officially supporting PowerStore as external storage, computing and storage can now be expanded separately as needed, unlike the existing hyperconverged (HCI) approach, which requires servers and storage to be expanded together. Participants completed the “Nutanix Move” process themselves, transitioning only the hypervisor in stages while leaving their existing storage in place.
On the 29th, the program will cover the shift to new server generations amid rising demand for AI inference. Alongside trends in next-generation server processors from Intel and AMD, Kolon Benit will introduce Dell’s “PowerEdge 18G” lineup unveiled this year and lead hands-on exercises with “iDRAC10,” a remote server management controller with enhanced security and hardware performance, and “OpenManage Enterprise (OME),” an integrated server management solution. It will also share product updates from Dell’s Client Solutions Group (CSG). On the final day, the 30th, training on hardware and software updates, including the next-generation “PowerStore Gen3” storage system, will be followed by hands-on practice covering the full storage operations process, from initial setup and SAN/NAS configuration to firmware upgrades and log collection.
