Crunchyroll to Release At Least 20 Anime Titles, Ramps Up Efforts to Attract Korean Users

[Financial News] Crunchyroll will bring at least 20 anime titles to the Korean market. It plans to diversify its lineup across genres, from anime based on Korean web novels and webtoons to romance, action, mystery and sports, while offering free access to new subscribers to broaden its user base.
According to industry sources on the 29th, Crunchyroll’s anime lineup will include Overgeared: The Power of Items, Black Clover: New Chapter, Firefly Wedding, Scarlet Mask and Magic Knight Rayearth. It will also offer eight titles exclusive or co-exclusive to Korea, including PSYREN -Siren- and A Returner’s Magic Should Be Special Season 2. Korean subtitles and dubbing will be available for select titles.
Overgeared: The Power of Items follows Grid, who changes class to the legendary Pagma’s Descendant in the virtual reality game Satisfy and sets out to forge a new legend by crafting items. Black Clover: New Chapter depicts events that unfold as protagonist Asta and the Magic Knight squads storm the Spade Kingdom to rescue the captains kidnapped by the Dark Triad. 
Romance titles on offer include Firefly Wedding and “Hello, I’m a Witch Who Was Asked by the Person I Fell for to Make a Love Potion.” Firefly Wedding begins when Satoko, a young noblewoman with a terminal illness, proposes to the assassin Shinpei after he kidnaps her, in an attempt to escape her predicament. 
The lineup also includes titles focused on mystery and adventure. PSYREN -Siren- follows Ageha, who, after his childhood friend goes missing, pursues Psyren, the force behind a series of disappearances, and is drawn into a brutal game. Scarlet Mask is about Per, an apprentice artisan who, possessed by a cursed mask, kills his master and colleagues, then sets out to destroy the masks his master left behind.
Other titles include Tougen Anki: Nikko-Kegon Falls Arc, Dragon Ball Super: Beerus, Red River and The Iceblade Sorcerer Shall Rule the World 2. In sports, Crunchyroll will offer the soccer anime Aoashi Season 2 and The New Prince of Tennis: U-17 World Cup Final Team Selection Match, among others.
Crunchyroll is also offering discounted subscription fees to attract new subscribers. Users in Korea who sign up for the Fan or Mega Fan monthly plan for the first time can get an additional month of free access. As a result, the fee for the first two months is 9,900 won for the Fan plan and 10,900 won for the Mega Fan plan.
