[Financial News] The Busan education office passed all 17 indicators in the quantitative assessment of metropolitan and provincial offices of education conducted by the Ministry of Education in 2026. It has now recorded a clean sweep of all indicators for six consecutive years, dating back to 2021.
According to the Busan Metropolitan City Office of Education on the 29th, it met the evaluation criteria for all 17 indicators, including key measures such as reducing private education costs, establishing the high school credit system, supporting students’ mental health, protecting teachers’ educational activities, and efforts to eradicate school violence.
The Busan education office secured 250 million won in financial incentives based on the evaluation results and plans to use the funds to advance education in Busan and support schools.
Busan Superintendent of Education Kim Seok-jun said, “This result is the fruit of the efforts made by everyone in the Busan education community,” adding, “We will continue to pursue education policies that make a tangible difference in schools and do our utmost to support the growth of every student.”
Meanwhile, the Ministry of Education’s nationwide evaluation of metropolitan and provincial offices of education aims to strengthen the offices’ accountability for national education policy and improve the quality of education by identifying and disseminating exemplary practices. The evaluation covered all metropolitan and provincial offices of education, assessing 17 indicators across four areas: nurturing future talent in AI, strengthening public education under national responsibility, providing student-tailored education and care, and restoring school communities.
