Zelenskyy: “Trilateral talks must be held between November 6 and 10” ... Russia cautious

[Financial News] Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy proposed holding trilateral U.S.-Russia-Ukraine talks on ending the war between the 6th and 10th of next month. Russia said the talks would take place after the 4th of next month, but struck a cautious tone, saying the specific date would depend on the situation on the battlefield and other factors.
According to the daily Kyiv Independent on the 28th (local time), President Zelenskyy said, “The talks should take place by the end of next month, preferably between November 6 and 10.” He added that the venue “could change depending on the situation in the Middle East.” In this regard, both Russia and Ukraine have reportedly identified Abu Dhabi, in the United Arab Emirates (UAE), as the leading candidate so far.
“We are waiting for the U.S. side, and I think it will provide all the answers after the election,” President Zelenskyy said, adding, “We expect the U.S. to finalize a date for the talks around November 4, the day after the midterm elections.”
According to Russia’s state-run TASS news agency, Kremlin foreign policy aide Yuri Ushakov also said on the same day, “It is clear that the trilateral talks in Abu Dhabi will take place after the 4th of next month.”
However, he denied media reports that the talks could take place on the 4th itself, making clear: “We haven’t sent any signals yet and are still considering it.” He also claimed that “the date of the talks depends on the situation on the battlefield and the overall situation,” and that “the previously agreed talks fell through because of the Ukrainian side.”
