【Financial News Iksan=Kang In】 A family complex where every stage of raising children can be handled in one place is to be built in Iksan, North Jeolla Province.
According to Iksan City on the 28th, construction of the Dairoun Moa (Mother-and-Child) Complex Center in Shindong has completed administrative procedures and is set to begin this December.
The Moa Complex Center will bring together in one place the health, medical and caregiving services needed to have and raise children, serving as an integrated hub. It will be built in Shindong, Iksan, at a cost of 6 billion won, with one basement level, four above-ground floors and a total floor area of 988.5 square meters. Completion is targeted for the first half of 2028.
The first floor will house a Sick Child Care Center to ease the biggest concern facing dual-income couples. The second floor will feature an indoor kids’ café where children can play regardless of the weather, as well as a parents’ lounge (rest café) for caregivers to meet and socialize. The third floor will house a Maternal and Child Health Center and an Early-Life Health Management Support Center, which will oversee the health of pregnant women, infants and young children. The fourth floor will contain a Moms Clinic offering prenatal and postpartum recovery programs, among other services, and a Parent Education Room providing guidance on sound parenting practices.
Once the center opens, pregnancy and childbirth support, along with linked childcare and caregiving services that had been scattered across different locations, will be coordinated in one place.
An Iksan City official said confidently, “It will become a key childcare landmark for Iksan City, dramatically easing the burden of raising children on families.”
