In recent years, large numbers of North Korean workers have arrived in Russia, and they are reportedly commuting to their workplaces in groups on buses that run around the region.
According to the Multilateral Sanctions Monitoring Team (MSMT), which includes 11 countries such as South Korea, the United States and Japan, 25,000 North Korean workers are currently employed at drone factories in the Alabuga Special Economic Zone in Russia's Tatarstan. Russia produces Geran-2 drones there, upgraded versions of Iran's Shahed drones, and deploys them in the war in Ukraine.
