[Financial News]  A story has emerged about a drunk man who urinated in front of a convenience store display, then calmly bought a lunch box, ate it in the store, and left.
On the 27th, JTBC’s “Scandal Supervisor” featured the account of informant A.
According to A, a drunk man entered a convenience store in Gwangju on the 27th of last month. He headed toward the lunch-box display and, a short time later, turned around and began urinating.
The convenience store’s closed-circuit television (CCTV) captured the man staggering in front of the display before suddenly putting a hand to his waistband. The man then bought a lunch box and ate it inside the store, according to reports.
At the time, only a female employee was working at the convenience store. She noticed what was happening on the CCTV but was too frightened to stop the man, it was reported.
After the man left, the area around the display was soaked with urine, and the stench was overwhelming, according to reports.
A removed all the goods from the display, washed it down with water and disinfected it, and estimated the losses at about 500,000 won.
A said, “The man was drunk at the time, but he wasn’t completely out of it,” and lamented, “I’ve dealt with plenty of drunk customers, but I never imagined one would urinate in the store.”
A reported the incident to the police that day and hoped a public indecency charge would also be applied. However, taking into account, among other things, that the man had not walked around with his pants down, the police applied only a property-damage charge. The damage has yet to be made good, and the investigation is ongoing, according to reports.
