[Financial News] Samchully ES, a specialist in distributed power and heating, ventilation and air conditioning (HVAC), is targeting South Korea’s data center backup power market with a large-capacity emergency power generation system from Japan’s Yanmar. The company plans to expand its emergency power supply business for data centers by combining its experience in building and operating distributed generation facilities with Yanmar’s generator technology.
Samchully ES said on the 28th that it will take part in “2026 Data Center Korea,” which will be held at the aT Center in Yangjae-dong, Seoul, from November 4 to 6, and showcase Yanmar’s GY175L Series (12GY175L) emergency power generation system for data centers.
The GY175L Series is a diesel emergency power generation system with output of up to 2,500 kilovolt-amperes (kVA). It is designed to reduce the space required for generator installation by being smaller and having a higher power density than Yanmar’s existing EY engine.
To improve combustion efficiency, the combustion specifications were optimized based on computational fluid dynamics (CFD) analysis and test results. Another feature is that key maintenance components are positioned on one side to facilitate inspection and maintenance.
Samchully ES has a track record in engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) and operations and maintenance (O&M) for distributed generation facilities totaling 616 MW, including 550 MW of fuel-cell power generation across 36 sites and 66 MW of gas-engine power generation across 52 sites. For at least 10 years, it has also handled the development, design, procurement, construction, operation and maintenance of its subsidiary Seonam Bioenergy’s approximately 6-MW-class sewage-treatment biogas power facility.
Samchully ES has worked with Yanmar through its gas heat pump (GHP) business. As the exclusive domestic distributor of Yanmar GHPs, it has installed at least 13,000 units over 25 years and also provides maintenance services.
A Samchully ES official said, “We plan to use this exhibition as an opportunity to expand the supply of emergency power generation systems for data centers and related operations and maintenance services.”
