[Financial News] Philip Morris Korea is continuing its citizen-participation eco-friendly campaign.
Industry sources said on the 28th that Philip Morris Korea, together with K-Green Foundation, will host 'Sseudam Seoul Season 6 – Happy Sseudam Day' for two days starting on the 30th in the Seongsu-dong area of Seongdong District, Seoul.
'Happy Sseudam Day' is an urban cleanup campaign jointly organized by Philip Morris Korea and K-Green Foundation. Each year, citizens and employees have taken part in plogging at locations across Seoul. Last year, a total of 159.51 kg of trash, including cigarette butts, was collected in Seoul's Yeonnam-dong area, contributing to improvements in the urban environment.
This year's event is built around the concept, 'The Earth is overflowing with trash—who's the culprit?' Participants become 'Sseudam detectives' and search for traces of trash left around the city as part of an immersive experience.
The event will take place at a pop-up space at 42 Seoul Forest 2-gil, Seongdong District. On the first day, the 30th, citizen-participation programs will begin with a morning plogging activity by Philip Morris Korea employees. On the 31st, the event will be open to the general public.
The venue will host an experiential space for 'Modu Moa,' a resource-circulation program for adult participants. Games and exhibits are designed to let participants experience firsthand the importance of proper waste sorting and naturally appreciate the program's purpose and value.
Lee Hong-seok, CEO of Philip Morris Korea, said, "I hope this will once again give citizens an opportunity to walk through the city themselves, reflect on the environmental issues around us, and naturally experience the meaning of taking small actions."
