[Financial News] Korea Technology Finance Corporation (KOTEC) is partnering with the Sejong Center for Creative Economy and Innovation to identify promising local startups and connect them with financial support. It plans to strengthen the growth base for regional innovative companies by linking support across the full process, from technology commercialization and demonstration to financing.
According to industry sources on the 28th, KOTEC signed an agreement with the Sejong Center for Creative Economy and Innovation to establish a growth ecosystem for innovative startups in Sejong and link them with financial support.
The agreement was designed to support the commercialization and growth of technology startups in Sejong by linking the two organizations’ startup-support capabilities with their financial assistance programs.
Under the agreement, the Sejong Center for Creative Economy and Innovation will identify startups with strong growth potential and recommend them to KOTEC, while connecting them with existing business-support programs, including assistance with technology commercialization and demonstration. KOTEC plans to provide guarantees for innovative startups among those recommended, as well as financial and non-financial support, including investment referrals and publicity.
The two organizations will share the results of their business-support efforts and draw on their respective regional networks to identify further collaborative projects. They aim to reduce the difficulties startups face in turning technology into actual businesses and entering the market.
Park Gyeong-sun, head of KOTEC’s Chungcheong Regional Headquarters, said, "Sejong is a region cultivating new growth engines centered on future strategic industries." He added, "We will continue to work with the Sejong Center for Creative Economy and Innovation to actively support innovative startups in commercializing their technology and entering the market, and to help create new growth engines for the region."
