[Financial News] As it marks its 59th anniversary, BNK Busan Bank is stepping up specialized financial support for startups to identify promising local startups early and provide financial and nonfinancial assistance tailored to each company’s characteristics, from the early stages of founding through growth.
Busan Bank said on the 28th that it would step up financial support for local startups and venture companies by assigning a dedicated startup support team to its existing Centum Financial Center.
The operation of this specialized financial center for startups was prompted by the need for a dedicated financial branch for startups and feedback from the field raised at meetings, including discussions among officials from BNK Financial Group and the Korea Startup Forum.
To that end, Busan Bank established a Startup Growth Support Team under its headquarters’ Innovation Growth Finance Group and placed customer consultation and operational functions at Centum Financial Center, creating a support system linked to its branches.
The dedicated startup support staff stationed at the center will identify promising companies and develop support plans tailored to each company’s financial needs.
The center offers a range of financial services, including account opening, financial consultations, connections with guarantee institutions, and loans. It also plans to strengthen funding support for business growth, including by pursuing direct equity investments in promising startups in cooperation with the headquarters’ Innovation Growth Finance Group.
It also plans to connect startups with professional services such as tax, accounting, and legal services, seek opportunities for new business partnerships, and expand cooperation with relevant organizations, including Busan City, startup support organizations, universities, and venture capital firms (VCs).
A Busan Bank official said, "We expect Centum Financial Center to serve as a hub providing the financial services local startups need to grow."
