【JAKARTA, Indonesia—Aulia Maulida Hamdani, Correspondent】LG Electronics maintained its dominant position in Indonesia’s front-load washer market in 2026, winning the choice of four in 10 consumers.
According to local media reports on the 28th, a survey by global market research firm NIQ-GfK found that four in 10 consumers in Indonesia’s front-load washer market use LG products, giving LG Electronics the highest market share.
Ha Sang-cheol, head of LG Electronics’ Indonesia subsidiary, explained that consumer trust was the result of consistently providing innovations suited to people’s living environments and needs. He said, “Winning consumers’ choice is not just about introducing innovative products; it is about ensuring that technology delivers useful value in everyday life.”
To maintain its market leadership, LG Electronics has expanded its product lineup, focusing on artificial intelligence (AI) technology and large-capacity products. It has applied technologies such as AI DD (Direct Drive) and AI Wash to front-load washers, WashTowers and top-load washers, enabling them to recognize fabric types and automatically optimize the wash cycle. It also offers remote control of products through LG ThinQ, an app that connects smart devices.
LG Electronics has also strengthened its large-capacity lineup. The LG WashTower WT2520NHBA offers a 25 kg wash capacity and a 20 kg drying capacity, while the top-load washer TX2522ST5G, with a capacity of 22 kg, meets demand for large laundry loads.
Alongside expanding its share of the washing machine market, LG Electronics also won in the washing machine category at the 2026 Indonesia Customer Satisfaction Award. Marking its 36th anniversary in Indonesia this year, the company is also holding the “LG AI Wash Exhibition” in four cities, including Jakarta, where visitors can experience its AI laundry technology. This November, it plans to deliver 36 washing machines to 36 teachers selected through a social-contribution campaign for educators.
