[Financial News] Korea Investment Real Estate Trust is pursuing the development of a residential complex of about 1,700 homes in the area around 605 Sindaebang-dong, Dongjak District, Seoul. Korea Investment Real Estate Trust, a subsidiary of Korea Investment Holdings, said on the 28th that it had signed an MOU with the steering committee for the private urban complex development project in the area around 605 Sindaebang-dong to successfully advance the project and strengthen mutual cooperation.
The agreement was reached to lay the groundwork for the project from its early stages by drawing on expertise in the trust-based approach and experience in redevelopment projects. The two sides plan to cooperate to ensure the smooth progress of related procedures, including preparing and proposing a mixed-use development plan, proposing the designation of an innovation district, and designating a project operator.
The project site is in the area around 605 Sindaebang-dong, Dongjak District, Seoul. The goal is to improve the aging residential environment and build a residential complex of about 1,700 homes. The project is expected to improve the local residential environment and living conditions by linking with nearby projects, including the Sindaebang Station-area redevelopment project and the Daerim Samgeori Station-area redevelopment project.
Transportation and daily-life infrastructure are also cited as strengths of the project. The site is located within reach of Sindaebang Station on Seoul Subway Line 2.
When Daerim Samgeori Station on the Sinansan Line opens in the future, transport access to nearby areas is expected to improve further. Educational facilities, including Munchang Elementary School and Sindaerim Elementary School, as well as major medical facilities, are nearby. Boramae Park is also within the neighborhood, making the area convenient and pleasant for residents.
Korea Investment Real Estate Trust plans to establish a cooperative framework with project stakeholders based on this agreement and support the project's progress.
Park Min-gyu, head of Korea Investment Real Estate Trust, said, “With this agreement as an opportunity, we will communicate closely with project stakeholders and support the project by drawing on our experience and expertise in redevelopment projects.” He added, “We will work to lay the foundation for systematic project management, improve efficiency and transparency throughout the project, and contribute to improving the local residential environment.”
