[Financial News] Eugene Investment Futures is moving to introduce an omnibus account service for Korean derivatives aimed at overseas investors, in partnership with Alpaca, a global brokerage infrastructure company.
According to the financial investment industry on the 28th, Eugene Investment Futures signed an MOU with Alpaca at the Alpaca Partner Summit held in Lisbon, Portugal, the previous day (local time). The signing ceremony was attended by Lee Su-gu, CEO of Eugene Investment Futures, and Yoshi Yokokawa, co-founder and CEO of Alpaca, among others.
The agreement will allow overseas investors to trade derivatives listed on the Korea Exchange (KRX) through local securities firms or investment platforms without opening separate accounts with a domestic futures company. The two companies plan to expand the range of tradable products, starting with options listed in Korea.
As its domestic derivatives brokerage partner, Eugene Investment Futures will handle order execution, market access, clearing and settlement, and the operation of omnibus accounts. CEO Lee Su-gu said, "Through this MOU, we will further strengthen our strategic partnership with Alpaca and work to improve global investors’ access to the Korean derivatives market."
Meanwhile, Eugene Investment & Securities signed an MOU with Alpaca last July to launch an omnibus account service for Korean stocks. Alpaca, a global fintech company headquartered in New York, supports at least 10 million securities accounts in at least 45 countries worldwide, as of the end of June.
