Busan City and Busan Techno Park announced that they will hold the 2026 Busan Biohealth Forum at Asti Hotel Busan on the afternoon of the 28th.

The forum was organized to share directions for healthcare innovation using AI, medical and health data, and to explore ways to build a “Busan-style healthcare data ecosystem” and strategies for growing the region’s biohealth industry.
Before the forum, a pre-event meeting will be held with the city’s Deputy Mayor for Economic Affairs, Oh Seok-geun, heads of major local medical institutions, and business representatives to discuss building data infrastructure and collaborating on the development of medical AI.
The city shared its plan to develop the healthcare and big data center into a public-sector medical data collaboration platform jointly used by hospitals and businesses, and proposed forming the Busan Medical AI and Data Cooperation Council.
The forum will begin with a keynote address by Professor Kim Hyeong-hoe of Busan National University Hospital, followed by presentations and panel discussions across three sessions covering policy, industry, and regional strategies.
Professor Kim will speak on “Healthcare Innovation Based on AI Healthcare Data and the Future of the Biohealth Industry.”
In the policy session, Eom Bo-young, secretary-general of the National Integrated Bio Big Data Construction Project Group at the Korea Health Industry Development Institute, will outline national-level policies and the project’s progress under the theme “An Introduction to the Project and Its Current Status.” In the industry session, Park Jun-mo, vice chairman of the Busan AI Convergence Technology Association, will present “Cases of Innovation in the Biohealth Industry Using Healthcare Big Data and AI.”
In the regional strategy session, Park Jun-hyeong, CEO of Threebigs Co., Ltd., will present “From Medical Data to Industrial Innovation: A Growth Strategy for Busan’s Biohealth Industry.” He will outline ways to build a Busan-style healthcare data ecosystem, including collaboration among local medical institutions, businesses, universities, and public agencies, the use of medical data by local businesses, and support for validation and commercialization.
The city plans to strengthen collaboration between medical institutions and businesses based on input from the forum and to flesh out support measures for businesses that connect data-driven product development with market entry.
