[Financial News] An Aston Martin F1 Team car will take to a circuit in Inje County, Gangwon Province, next month.
According to Inje Speedium on the 27th, the event is hosted by Inje Speedium and organized by Peaches., a car-culture-based lifestyle brand. The highlight will be a run by Jessica Hawkins, driver ambassador for the Aston Martin Aramco Formula One Team. Hawkins will drive the team’s F1 car, the AMR25, around the Inje Speedium circuit, giving spectators a firsthand taste of the speed and engine sound unique to F1 cars.
Hawkins has served as a driver ambassador for the Aston Martin F1 Team since 2021 and is in charge of team operations at F1 Academy, a series for developing female drivers. In 2023, she made headlines when she took the AMR21 out for a test run at the Hungaroring in Hungary. At the time, foreign media outlets including the UK’s Top Gear reported that it had been about five years since a female driver had test-driven a current F1 car. She also worked as a stunt driver on the film ‘007: No Time to Die.’
The Inje Speedium circuit, where the run will take place, is a 3.908-kilometer track with 19 corners and a maximum elevation change of 40 meters. The organizers say its significant elevation changes and variety of corners make it an ideal setting for experiencing the dynamic movements of F1 cars. Inje Speedium is an automotive culture complex featuring an international-standard circuit and accommodations including a hotel and condominiums.
The event has also expanded its audience participation programs. One event will invite attendees to guess the F1 car’s fastest lap time and top speed. Visitors can also ride a circuit taxi around the track, try off-road driving, or experience leisure karting. Experience spaces and exhibitions from various brands will also be set up, with details of the programs and lists of vehicles on display and on track to be announced in stages.
The event was first held last year under the name ‘Peaches Run Universe.’ At the inaugural event, held on October 12 last year at Everland Speedway in Yongin, Gyeonggi Province, Valtteri Bottas of the Mercedes-AMG Petronas F1 Team performed a demo run. Peaches later signed an agreement with Inje Speedium in January this year to hold the event at the venue for three years, from 2026 to 2028. No official F1 races have been held in South Korea since the Korean Grand Prix, held at the Korea International Circuit in Yeongam County, South Jeolla Province, from 2010 to 2013.
“I’m very pleased that we’re holding this F1 show run at Inje Speedium, which has the country’s highest-grade internationally certified circuit,” said Lee Jeong-min, CEO of Inje Speedium. “I hope that, with the interest and support of many people, more F1 fans will join us and have the opportunity to experience the appeal of world-class motorsports up close.” He added, “With this event as a starting point, we plan to continue developing the F1 show run while actively working to attract a variety of Formula racing events.”
“I’ve heard a lot about the passionate enthusiasm of Korean motorsports fans. I’m really looking forward to driving the AMR25 at Inje Speedium, with its significant elevation changes,” Hawkins said. “I hope to give everyone who comes to the event, especially young people pursuing their dreams in motorsports, an unforgettable day.”
