[Financial News] KT took first place in three telecom categories—high-speed internet, internet TV (IPTV) and mobile communications—in the Korean Quality Satisfaction Index survey. Its AI-based network quality management and service improvements tailored to customers’ usage environments received positive evaluations.
KT said on the 28th that it had been named No. 1 in three telecom categories in the 2026 Korean Standard-Quality Excellence Index (KS-QEI) survey, organized by the Korean Standards Association (KSA). It ranked first in high-speed internet for the 11th consecutive year, IPTV for the 10th consecutive year and mobile communications for the 7th consecutive year.
KT uses an AI-based network operations system to manage telecom quality. In high-speed internet, it analyzes traffic and quality data to detect signs of anomalies early, and operates a system to quickly identify the cause of an outage and respond when one occurs.
In mobile communications, KT is advancing next-generation technologies, including the commercialization of 5G standalone (SA) service, voice over new radio (VoNR) and network slicing. It has also strengthened its system for checking network conditions in real time, using its nationwide wired and wireless infrastructure.
KT emphasized that it is continuing to improve its products and services. In mobile communications, it introduced an integrated pricing system for LTE and 5G. On its IPTV service Genie TV, it has introduced AI-based content search and on-device AI technology to help users easily find the content they want.
In customer support, KT has upgraded its AI-based consultation system and strengthened protective measures, including spam and voice phishing prevention. Since April this year, it has held the “Customer Listening Forum” seven times and incorporated customer feedback into product and service improvement initiatives.
Choi Se-jun, executive director and head of KT’s Customer Strategy Division, said, “We will continue to use AI and telecommunications technology to improve service quality in ways people can experience in their daily lives and repay them with differentiated customer value.”
