[Financial News] LG Uplus Corp.’s IPTV service U+tv ranked No. 1 in an AI transformation (AX) quality assessment, recognized for using artificial intelligence (AI) to improve content search and viewing convenience.
AI voice search and chatbot make IPTV easier to use
LG Uplus Corp. said on the 28th that it had ranked No. 1 in the IPTV category of the “2026 AX Quality Satisfaction Index (AX-QEI),” organized by the Korean Standards Association (KSA). The company added that this year it also ranked No. 1 in 11 categories in major customer satisfaction and service quality assessments, including the National Customer Satisfaction Index (NCSI) and the Call Center Quality Index (KS-CQI).
The AX-QEI is a metric that evaluates products and services incorporating AI from the perspective of customers’ experience. LG Uplus Corp. said it was recognized for improving convenience through U+tv’s AI features and a system that anticipates and responds to potential user difficulties.
U+tv includes “ixi Voice Search,” which lets users search for content as if conversing with AI and use voice commands to control playback, playback speed and subtitle settings, and “ixi Voice Chatbot,” which provides information on how to use the TV and on subscription plans. It also offers “AI Subtitles,” which analyzes audio in content to generate subtitles and adjusts their position so they do not overlap with text on the screen.
LG Uplus Corp. has expanded AI features on IPTV based on its AI IPTV strategy, unveiled in 2024. This year, it ranked No. 1 for the first time in the mobile phone service category of the NCSI and took the top spot in the IPTV category for the fifth consecutive year.
Customer experience gains in mobile communications and call centers
The call center earned top honors in both mobile communications and high-speed internet/IPTV for the second consecutive year in the telecom category of the KS-CQI. LG Uplus Corp. said it helps agents quickly review customers’ inquiry histories and consultation details, and analyzes repeat inquiries and major complaints to inform service improvements.
It was also named a “Customer Delight Call Center” for mobile communications and high-speed internet in the Korea Industry Service Quality Index (KSQI) call center category. In the KSQI customer contact point (MOT) assessment, it ranked No. 1 in specialized after-sales service and mobile communications. It also ranked No. 1 in the mobile communications category of the Digital Customer Experience Index (DCXI) for the third consecutive year, and received the AX Contact Center Innovation Award.
Jeong Hye-yun, head of LG Uplus Corp.’s CX Center and a managing director, said, “Ranking No. 1 in 11 categories of major service and quality assessments is recognition of our efforts to improve the customer experience across the board,” adding, “We will use AI and digital technologies to enhance the convenience and value that customers can experience.”
