[Financial News] On the 28th, SK hynix pushed back against concerns about possible overproduction, saying, “An increase in investment or the number of new fabs does not mean that supply will increase in direct proportion.”
A SK hynix representative made the remarks during the company’s third-quarter earnings conference call that day, saying, “We are responding to strong customer demand and pursuing mid- to long-term investments to secure the equipment and production space needed for technology transitions.”
A SK hynix representative said, “The constraints on increasing production through miniaturization are growing,” and explained, “Accordingly, our current investments are not simply aimed at increasing production capacity, but at securing the production base needed for technology transitions and expanding high-value-added products.”
The representative added, “We will maintain ample financial flexibility, taking into account our medium- to long-term net cash target and an appropriate cash level,” and said, “We plan to manage the scale of investment and the pace of its execution based on demand visibility and investment returns.”
