[Financial News] CPLB Co., Ltd. (CPLB), the Coupang affiliate responsible for its private-brand (PB) products, has set out to strengthen its competitiveness in fresh foods by sharing quality-management know-how with small and midsize agricultural suppliers.
According to industry sources on the 28th, CPLB held the “2026 Supplier Agricultural Produce Quality Briefing” the previous day at Coupang’s Guui office in Gwangjin District, Seoul, inviting 81 small and midsize vegetable and fruit suppliers.
Held annually since 2024, the briefing was organized to share quality-management experience with small and midsize partners and strengthen cooperation for a stable supply of products. About 120 people attended this year’s event, including 105 representatives of existing and new PB agricultural suppliers and CPLB employees.
At the event, CPLB shared quality-management measures and operational know-how that suppliers could apply in the field. Topics included seasonal approaches to managing agricultural produce quality; examples of quality improvements based on customer feedback; cases of preventing and responding to quality issues; and ways to work together to ensure a stable supply of products.
Taking into account the sensitivity of fresh produce to seasonal and climate changes, the briefing focused on key quality issues at different times of the year and actual response cases. CPLB also said it would strengthen cooperation with suppliers through prompt communication, enabling them to jointly address quality issues and maintain a stable supply chain.
At the event, appreciation plaques were presented to two suppliers, including Unong Farming Cooperative Corporation and Nadeul Agricultural Corporation Co., Ltd., for their contributions to excellent quality management and a stable supply of products over the past year.
Lee Gwang-hui, CEO of Nadeul Agricultural Corporation Co., Ltd., said, “We are steadily expanding our sales channels through Coupang, and the company is growing significantly, with sales up by at least 50%. We will apply what we discussed this time in the field and work to provide even better agricultural products.”
CPLB Executive Vice President Solai Sakthivel said, “We are able to provide customers with high-quality fresh produce thanks to the expertise and tireless efforts of our small and midsize partners. We will continue to expand opportunities for collaboration so that our suppliers can enhance their competitiveness and continue to grow.”
Nine out of every 10 CPLB suppliers are small and midsize manufacturers, and the products they supply number in the tens of thousands. Recently, small and midsize manufacturers have accounted for 90% or more of sales of Coupang’s PB products.
