Cosmax teams up with ingredient suppliers to secure premium ingredients

[Financial News] The cosmetics ODM company Cosmax is strengthening its materials capabilities through collaboration with ingredient suppliers.
According to industry sources on the 28th, Cosmax held the “2026 Cosmax Ingredient Partners Meeting” on the 27th with about 40 representatives from around 20 ingredient suppliers to discuss domestic and international market and regulatory trends, as well as plans for cooperation on joint research and product commercialization.
Cosmax plans to establish a system for transparently sharing safety and efficacy data from the initial ingredient selection stage and to strengthen its regulatory response capabilities in collaboration with ingredient suppliers, in preparation for the safety assessment system scheduled to take effect in 2028.
The company also shared demand for new ingredients across its research institutes and consumer trends by product category. In particular, it agreed to pursue the procurement of premium ingredients and the advancement of formulation technologies to meet demands for improved functionality and sensory feel in skin care and sun care products.
It will also expand its supply chain with a focus on eco-friendly and alternative materials. Its goal is to identify materials that can improve safety and sustainability while maintaining the sensory feel and performance of existing ingredients.
Cosmax will also expand its range of ingredients that can create visual effects, taking into account the social media-centered marketing environment. It plans to improve its ability to serve indie brands by proposing materials with marketing applications in mind from the product planning stage.
A Cosmax representative said, “We will continue driving innovation that leads global trends by combining ingredient suppliers’ materials technology with Cosmax’s formulation capabilities,” and added, “We will proactively respond to domestic and international regulations based on safety and efficacy data and offer differentiated products.”
