According to Centre Pompidou Hanwha on the 28th, “Chagall, Ever Crossing” will run from November 24 through March 28 next year in Exhibition Hall 1 at the 63 Building in Seoul’s Yeongdeungpo District. It is the second collection exhibition to present works from the Centre Pompidou’s collection.
Centre Pompidou’s Chagall collection is built around works donated by his heirs. The exhibition will also include works from the Centre Pompidou collection that have been deposited with 10 institutions in France.
The exhibition spans Chagall’s work from the 1900s through the 1970s, shedding light on the upheavals of the era he lived through and his artistic experimentation. It will also feature sculptures and ceramics rarely seen in Korea, as well as recreated stained glass and media artworks.
Chagall went into exile in the United States in 1941 during World War II, then returned to France in 1948. He later began working with ceramics in southern France and expanded his range of media to include stained glass and mosaics.
Sales of a limited 3,000 early-bird tickets will begin at 10 a.m. today and run through November 3. Adult tickets can be purchased for 17,500 won, a 30% discount from the regular price of 25,000 won. A ticket bundled with an audio guide costs 20,500 won.
Early-bird tickets can be used only from the opening day, November 24, through December 11. Tickets can be booked on the official Centre Pompidou Hanwha website.
General tickets will be available for booking from November 15. Admission costs 25,000 won for adults, 17,500 won for seniors and teenagers, and 15,000 won for children.
