[Financial News] Konkuk University’s University Job Plus Project Group announced on the 27th that it had successfully completed the “2026 Academic Year Financial Job Roadmap Program,” organized for young people preparing for careers in finance.
The program went beyond basic theoretical lectures on employment. Practitioners from major financial institutions, including the Industrial Bank of Korea, Samsung Fire & Marine Insurance, Daishin Securities and the Korea Technology Finance Corporation, served as mentors and shared their practical experience and expertise.
The program covered not only core areas such as corporate, personal and digital finance, but also specialized roles that job seekers often have difficulty finding detailed information about, including venture capital (VC), securities lending brokerage, corporate insurance brokerage and guarantee underwriting. The broad range of topics was well received by participants.
Held online via Zoom in 20 sessions from September 7 to 18, the program drew 305 participants, including current students, graduates and young people from the local community; 253 ultimately completed it. Each session comprised a 50-minute lecture and 20 minutes of Q&A, giving participants the opportunity to learn firsthand about practitioners’ day-to-day work and job search strategies through tailored one-on-one questions.
A post-program satisfaction survey gave the training an average score of 4.66 out of 5. Participants particularly valued hearing directly about practitioners’ experience and getting realistic answers through open Q&A sessions.
Lee Sang-won, head of Konkuk University’s University Job Plus Project Group, said, “I hope this program has helped young people preparing for careers in finance define more clearly the roles that suit them,” adding, “We will continue to offer follow-up programs, including hands-on specialized training in financial careers, to strengthen young people’s competitiveness in the job market.”
