[Financial News] Kakao will introduce AI-powered preliminary interviews and personality tests into its recruitment process. The company plans to use AI for existing online preliminary interviews and diversify its hiring assessments by also examining applicants’ work tendencies and collaboration styles.
According to the IT industry on the 27th, Kakao recently revised its privacy policy, adding Muhayu, an AI interview solutions company, and ORP Research Institute, a specialist personality-testing firm, as companies entrusted with processing personal information. Kakao is entrusting Muhayu with “conducting AI preliminary interviews for recruitment” and ORP Research Institute with “conducting personality tests for recruitment.” The revised policy takes effect on the 29th.
Kakao has already conducted some online preliminary interviews before first-round interviews, depending on the needs of the relevant departments. Going forward, it plans to use AI in this process. Rather than adding a separate assessment stage, Kakao will convert its existing preliminary interview format to AI, with hiring managers reviewing applicants with reference to the AI preliminary interview results.
Kakao is also introducing personality tests. The aim is to assess applicants’ work tendencies and collaboration styles, in addition to their job-related competencies, and use that information in hiring decisions.
A Kakao representative explained, “This is intended to help us understand applicants from a broader range of perspectives and strengthen our existing recruitment procedures,” adding, “The privacy policy notice is part of preparations for the rollout, and we plan to announce the specific implementation schedule in recruitment postings.”
