[Financial News] Hyun Yun, vice chairman of the Kolmar Group, stressed that he was “100% confident that K-beauty can continue to grow sustainably.”
According to industry sources on the 27th, Vice Chairman Yun made the remarks during a lecture titled “Can K-Beauty Be Sustainable?” at “Amazon Beauty in Seoul 2026,” held that day at Grand InterContinental Seoul Parnas in Gangnam-gu, Seoul.
Vice Chairman Yun cited the industry ecosystem, made up of brands, distributors and cosmetics manufacturers, as a key competitive advantage of K-beauty. “The driving force behind K-beauty’s growth is the constant emergence of new brands,” he said, explaining, “If you have a good idea, an industry ecosystem in which original development manufacturing (ODM) companies such as Kolmar Korea make the products and global platforms such as Amazon connect them with consumers around the world makes this possible.” He added, “The environment that enables new brands to keep emerging and growing is K-beauty’s true competitive edge,” and said, “Kolmar Korea goes beyond manufacturing to provide comprehensive support in areas such as branding, design and marketing.”
The event was organized to bring together cosmetics manufacturers, brands, distributors and investors to share strategies for entering global markets and explore opportunities for collaboration. About 10,000 industry insiders attended online and in person, including Vice Chairman Yun and Shin Hwa-sook, head of Amazon Global Selling Korea. Since holding its first event with Amazon in 2024, Kolmar Korea has participated as the exclusive manufacturing sponsor for three consecutive years, through this year.
Kolmar Korea set up a booth showcasing products and technologies reflecting the latest global beauty trends, including skincare, makeup, personal care and sun care. It also created a consultation area with its cosmetics-packaging subsidiary Yonwoo and held consultations for brand companies and prospective business owners. Amazon also set up separate consultation areas for businesses seeking to list products in different regions, where they discussed plans for global expansion.
A Kolmar Korea representative said, “This event confirmed that K-beauty is taking root as a sustainable industry, rather than a passing trend,” adding, “We will continue to actively support the emergence of new K-beauty brands and their global growth, building on our partnership with Amazon.”
