[Financial News] HYBE has revamped its Label Services unit, which supports the distribution of albums and music, marketing, and promotion for its affiliated labels, into Global Label Services, encompassing its operations worldwide.
HYBE said on the 27th that it had appointed Juan S. Arenas, chief intellectual property officer (CIPO) at HYBE America, to head the new organization. The move is intended to strengthen its global business foundations under its “Multi-home, Multi-genre” strategy and expand opportunities for labels and artists to work overseas.
Global Label Services is a hub overseeing music distribution, marketing, and publicity. It supports domestic artists’ expansion overseas and artists affiliated with HYBE abroad in their activities in Korea and other regions.
HYBE has also bolstered its team of specialists. It appointed Nicole Sabai, who previously worked at Interscope Records as senior vice president of global distribution. Based in Nashville, Sabai will lead global distribution of albums and music, as well as domestic and international partnership initiatives.
HYBE has established an Artist Success Unit to coordinate artist-specific projects and support for global activities, and hired Melissa Victor-Burkhart, who previously worked at Epic Records, as executive vice president. Joana Fuentes, who has worked at CBS and Warner Bros., among others, will oversee artist PR for Global Label Services alongside Arenas.
HYBE recently also created the chief people and transformation officer (CPTO) role, responsible for HR and organizational innovation across its global hubs, and appointed Jenny Pef. Pef, previously CPTO of HYBE America and HYBE Latin America, will support collaboration across the hubs through global talent recruitment and placement and the development of organizational culture.
HYBE CEO Lee Jae-sang said the reorganization was “part of building global infrastructure to strengthen HYBE artists’ capabilities in music distribution, marketing, promotion, and publicity.”
