[Financial News] Yoon & Yang has confirmed the reappointment of its executive managing partner, Lee Myung-soo (29th class of the Judicial Research and Training Institute). His management record, including two consecutive years of double-digit revenue growth and the expansion of the organization since he took office, is seen as the reason for his reappointment.
According to legal circles on the 27th, Yoon & Yang recently held a partners’ meeting and re-elected Lee and management partners Kang Young-ho (30th class) and Si Jin-guk (32nd class). Their new three-year terms begin on January 1 next year.
Yoon & Yang has continued its rapid growth since 2024, when Lee took office. Revenue rose from 208.2 billion won in 2023 to 250 billion won in 2024 and 281.2 billion won in 2025. Annual growth rates were 20.1% and 12.5%, respectively, bringing cumulative growth over the two years to more than 35%. Last year, total revenue, including that of affiliates and overseas offices, reached 301.2 billion won, topping 300 billion won for the first time.
Profitability and productivity indicators also stood out. Revenue per Korean lawyer (RPL) was 762 million won last year, ranking first among large law firms. The firm maintained revenue growth of at least 10% year-on-year in the first half of this year and expects its domestic entity’s annual revenue to exceed 300 billion won.
The firm also achieved results in major litigation. It won a lawsuit over the return of a 250 billion won contract deposit related to the acquisition of Asiana Airlines, and in criminal cases related to the merger of Samsung C&T Corporation and Cheil Industries, it represented Samsung C&T Corporation’s executives and secured acquittals at every court level.
The firm also strengthened its organizational capabilities. Its professional workforce grew from 502 when the current leadership took office to around 620. It expanded its advisory capabilities by hiring M&A experts and reorganizing its practice groups (PGs) by area, while broadening its work into financial regulation, fair trade, intellectual property (IP), labor, and serious accidents, among other fields.
Lee is a financial regulation expert who previously served as head of the legal team and the corporate disclosure team, among other roles, at the Financial Supervisory Service. He joined Yoon & Yang in 2010 and led its financial group. After serving as a management partner from 2017, he took office as managing partner in 2024.
Lee said, “I feel a strong sense of responsibility now that I have once again earned the trust of my partner attorneys.” He added, “In a rapidly changing legal market and regulatory environment, I will provide clients with the specialized solutions they truly need and build a law firm that grows together with its clients.”
