【Financial News Gyeongju = Kim Jang-wook】The social networking service (SNS) channel of Gyeongju Expo Grand Park, operated by the Gyeongbuk Culture and Tourism Organization (hereafter, the organization), scored a notable achievement on the 26th, winning the top award in the tourism category at the “2026 Korea SNS Awards.”
Gyeongju Expo Grand Park delivered information about its signature attractions, including Gyeongju Tower, Solgeo Art Museum and Cheonma Palace, as well as seasonal festivals and events, through short-form content in formats familiar to SNS users. It received high marks for effectively showcasing the park’s appeal by minimizing simple, text-heavy lists of information and adding stylish editing to videos that reflected the latest trends.
It also provided visitors with the information they needed to make the most of the park’s exhibitions, performances and hands-on activities, and has strengthened communication by running a variety of events to encourage ongoing participation from SNS users.
This user-focused approach to content planning and communication raised awareness of Gyeongju Expo Grand Park on SNS and expanded its reach among potential tourists, contributing to the award.
Kim Nam-il, president of the organization, emphasized, “Gyeongju Expo Grand Park, which launched in 1998 and has been loved by many visitors for 28 years, will be reborn as Gyeongju APEC Memorial Park on the 31st. We will make active use of our SNS channels to widely publicize APEC’s historic achievements and legacy, and continue communicating sincerely in a way that reflects customers’ perspectives.”
The organization plans to step up marketing on the SNS platforms it currently operates (Naver Blog, Instagram, YouTube and Facebook) following this award.
It also plans to further strengthen communication with users by actively incorporating the reactions and interests gathered through SNS into content planning, so that online interest can lead to actual visits to Gyeongju Expo Grand Park.
Meanwhile, the Korea SNS Awards, organized by the Korea Social Content Promotion Association, a nonprofit corporation, are the country’s most prestigious social media awards. They comprehensively assess how businesses and public institutions use social networking services and honor organizations that actively communicate with the public and provide outstanding digital content.
