[Financial News] The Korea Institute for the Promotion of Early Childhood Care and Education said on the 27th that it will offer additional practical workshops for 3,000 kindergarten and childcare center teachers nationwide, covering generative artificial intelligence (AI) and how to use digital tools.
The training is designed around hands-on lessons that teachers can put to immediate use in the classroom. Going beyond basic theory, it covers topics that can be applied directly to teaching and administrative work, including creating classroom songs with AI, editing videos on smartphones, making educational games using the Gemini chatbot, and creating birthday cards with QR codes.
Arrangements have also been made to make it easier for teachers to participate. To reduce their workload, classes have been flexibly scheduled for evenings after work (6 to 8 p.m.) and weekends (Saturday mornings). The training will be held in six live video-conference sessions via Zoom from November 4 to 12.
The institute said it planned the additional advanced course in response to a sharp rise in demand among teachers in the field who want to apply AI technology to their work.
Cho Yong-nam, president of the Korea Institute for the Promotion of Early Childhood Care and Education, said, “I hope teachers can make practical use of AI digital tools in their teaching and work, reduce their workload, and improve the quality of education.”
Any early childhood teacher currently working in the field can apply for this workshop through the official Mind Growth Project website and attend for free.
