[Financial News] Hyundai Motor and Hyundai Mobis are both rising in early trading on the 27th. As of 10:20 a.m. that day, Hyundai Motor was trading at 291,500 won, up 1.22% from the previous session. At the same time, Hyundai Mobis was up 2.15% at 333,000 won.
NH Investment & Securities said that while it sees potential for the two companies to expand their physical artificial intelligence (AI) businesses, actual revenue and earnings will need to be verified for their corporate valuations to be reassessed further.
Haneul, an analyst at NH Investment & Securities, described Hyundai Motor as “a company seeking to reuse its automotive manufacturing infrastructure to commercialize physical AI.” Haneul added, “While sales centered on hybrid cars support its core automotive business, its strength lies in being able to leverage the group’s infrastructure in manufacturing, parts and logistics for its robotics and software-defined vehicle (SDV) businesses.”
Haneul said, “For a second re-rating of its corporate valuation, Atlas will need to be deployed in actual factories, the company will need to secure external customers, and Boston Dynamics will need to improve its earnings.” Haneul added, “Mass production of SDVs and advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS) will need to proceed as planned from 2028 onward to demonstrate that automotive software can be monetized independently.”
Regarding Hyundai Mobis, Haneul highlighted its restructuring of its business portfolio, shifting from traditional automotive parts to electrification, automotive electronics, software and robotics. Haneul said, “It has moved beyond the stage of mere expectations, but actual actuator revenue is expected to begin in the fourth quarter of this year.”
