[Financial News] LG Chem Ltd., building on its collaboration with Volkswagen Group to develop materials for future vehicles, will make its first appearance at a German automotive parts exhibition. It plans to showcase solutions for lightweighting vehicles, recycled materials and materials that delay battery thermal runaway, and expand business cooperation with European automakers.
LG Chem Ltd. said on the 27th that it would participate in the International Automotive Suppliers Fair (IZB), which runs from the 27th (local time) through the 29th in Wolfsburg, Germany.
IZB is a biennial trade fair specializing in automotive parts and suppliers. It began as a Volkswagen Group supplier exhibition, and this year around 850 companies from 33 countries are participating.
LG Chem Ltd. is participating in the exhibition for the first time this year after receiving an invitation from Volkswagen Group. Last month, LG Chem Ltd. signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) with Volkswagen Group to jointly develop materials for future mobility.
At the exhibition, LG Chem Ltd. will showcase solutions for lightweighting vehicles, including metal-replacement and paint-free materials, as well as interior and exterior components made with recycled (PCR) materials. It will also display materials that delay battery thermal runaway and materials for vehicle transparency-adjusting film (SGF).
