[Financial News] Celltrion finalized its all-time record quarterly results for the third quarter of this year. Sales growth in high-margin new product lines helped operating profit growth outpace revenue growth.
Celltrion said on the 27th that it posted revenue of KRW 1.5755 trillion and operating profit of KRW 525.3 billion on a consolidated basis in the third quarter. Those figures were up 53.1% and 74.3%, respectively, from the same period a year earlier. Its operating margin was 33.3%, up 4.0 percentage points from a year earlier.
The finalized results were KRW 75.5 billion higher in revenue and KRW 15.3 billion higher in operating profit than the preliminary figures announced on the 12th.
New product lines drove the growth. Sales of new products totaled KRW 905.8 billion in the third quarter, up about 74% from the same period a year earlier. Their share of sales of biopharmaceutical products also rose to 67%, an increase of 13 percentage points year over year.
By major product, combined sales of Remsima SC and Zymfentra, its U.S. brand name, rose 19% year over year to KRW 254.2 billion. Cumulative sales through the third quarter reached KRW 710.4 billion, putting the annual target of KRW 1 trillion within reach. Yuflyma sales also increased 27% to KRW 183.2 billion.
Omlyclo, a treatment for allergic diseases, recorded cumulative sales of KRW 320.5 billion through the third quarter. This was a sharp increase from KRW 49.9 billion in the same period a year earlier, reflecting sales in 26 European countries and success in tenders in key markets. Its launch in the United States early this month provided an additional platform for growth.
Celltrion plans to continue investing in the development of new drugs, including antibody-drug conjugates (ADCs), while expanding biosimilar sales. It aims to sustain growth in the fourth quarter, supported by a higher share of high-margin products and the U.S. launch of Omlyclo.
