Taihan Cable & Solution Co., Ltd. wins German 380kV ultra-high-voltage power grid project; headquarters to supply KRW 115 billion

[Financial News] Taihan Cable & Solution Co., Ltd. has secured another turnkey project in Germany. The latest award follows its wins of two German 380kV ultra-high-voltage power grid projects in 2023. With the company’s capabilities—including its technology, quality and project execution experience—once again recognized in Germany, its European business expansion is expected to accelerate.
Taihan Cable & Solution Co., Ltd. said on the 27th that its Netherlands subsidiary had secured a 380kV ultra-high-voltage power grid project in Germany on a turnkey basis. The project involves building a 380kV grid, the highest-voltage underground AC power grid in Germany.
Under the project, the Netherlands subsidiary will oversee all aspects, including local engineering and construction, while Taihan Cable & Solution Co., Ltd.’s headquarters will manufacture and supply key materials such as ultra-high-voltage cables and accessories.
Accordingly, Taihan Cable & Solution Co., Ltd. disclosed that day that its headquarters had signed a contract worth approximately KRW 115 billion with its Netherlands subsidiary. The contract covers the supply of materials and other work to be carried out by headquarters. The total value of the Netherlands subsidiary’s turnkey project, including local engineering and construction, exceeds that amount. Details such as the total contract value and the client will not be disclosed under a confidentiality agreement with the client.
Taihan Cable & Solution Co., Ltd. secured new orders worth at least KRW 500 billion in Europe alone this year, strengthening its position as a major supplier. Across Europe, investment in ultra-high-voltage power infrastructure continues to grow in response to the expansion of artificial intelligence (AI) and the increase in data centers. Building on its local achievements, the company plans to step up its efforts to expand its presence in the market.

Building on the customer trust we have earned in the ultra-high-voltage power grid business, we will seek to broaden our business opportunities in high-voltage direct current (HVDC) transmission and subsea cables, and turn them into new orders.”
Meanwhile, to pursue the European market, the home of the power industry, Taihan Cable & Solution Co., Ltd. established a UK branch in 2017, then expanded and reorganized its operations into a European headquarters in 2019 and established a Netherlands subsidiary, accelerating its localization strategy. It currently operates a total of five branches and one subsidiary in Denmark, Sweden, the UK and other locations.
