[Financial News] SP Samhwa (formerly SAMHWA PAINT INDUSTRIAL CO., LTD.) has been recognized for its sustained social contribution efforts, including disaster relief and support for vulnerable groups. Marking its 80th anniversary this year, SP Samhwa continues its social contribution work through support for disaster victims and improvements to residential environments using its own products.
According to industry sources on the 27th, SP Samhwa received the Grand Honorary Medal, the highest grade of the Red Cross Membership Meritorious Service Award, from the Korean Red Cross on the 26th.
The Grand Honorary Medal of the Red Cross Membership Meritorious Service Award is the highest-level distinction presented to individuals or organizations that have contributed to humanitarian activities and fundraising. Kim Jung-bae, SP Samhwa’s chief business officer (CBO), and others attended the ceremony.
SP Samhwa has worked with the Korean Red Cross to support people affected by disasters, including through flood recovery and wildfire relief. It has also continued support efforts to improve the living conditions of vulnerable groups and address gaps in welfare services.
The company is also committed to social contribution efforts linked to its core business. SP Samhwa has participated for 14 years in a project to improve indoor environments for vulnerable groups facing environmental health risks, providing eco-friendly paint and other support. In recognition of these efforts, it also received a commendation from the Minister of Climate, Energy and Environment in June.
In other words, the company sustains its social contribution work by taking part in emergency relief when disasters occur and improving the living environments of vulnerable groups in ordinary times. It also carries out a range of sharing initiatives to support local communities and the development of culture and the arts.
An SP Samhwa representative said, “As we mark our 80th anniversary, we will continue to look out for neighbors in need and to give and show care as we work to build a society where everyone can live safely and warmly.”
