All three major U.S. stock indexes rose on the 26th (local time).
Anthropic’s submission of a preliminary prospectus (S-1) for its IPO to the Nasdaq Stock Exchange eased concerns about AI investment, and technology stocks rose sharply.
Semiconductors were particularly strong, with leading stock NVIDIA gaining 2.4% and Micron rising 3%.
Large-cap tech stocks rally

The Dow Jones Industrial Average closed up 146.42 points (0.28%) from the previous session at 52,361.58.
The tech-heavy S&P 500 rose 53.09 points (0.70%) to 7,676.77, while the Nasdaq climbed 214.04 points (0.83%) to 26,169.38.
The Nasdaq-100, made up of 100 large-cap technology stocks, closed up 315.88 points (1.09%) at 26,273.41. TQQQ, a leveraged exchange-traded fund (ETF) that tracks three times the index’s daily movement, ended trading up $2.14 (3.23%) at $68.43.
Semiconductor stocks rise

Semiconductor stocks posted particularly strong gains.
The renewed emphasis in Anthropic’s S-1 on issues such as memory shortages fueled the semiconductor rally.
NVIDIA climbed $5.04 (2.39%) to $216.00, while Micron closed up $26.15 (2.98%) at $903.70.
Intel rose $3.51 (4.04%) to $90.47, while SK hynix’s American depositary receipts (ADRs) surged $5.60 (4.09%) to $143.62.
SOXL, a leveraged semiconductor ETF, surged $7.16 (8.57%) to $90.72.
Tesla surges 5%

Big tech stocks, however, moved in mixed directions.
Tesla stood out, surging $19.40 (5.21%) to $391.62. SpaceX, by contrast, fell $0.59 (0.40%) to $146.90.
Alphabet closed down $3.41 (1.06%) at $316.80, while Apple fell $3.82 (1.10%) to $343.91.
Microsoft (MS), which announced a voluntary retirement plan for about 60,000 employees that day, rose $8.09 (1.54%) to $532.60. Palantir closed up $2.09 (1.06%) at $198.84.
