[Financial News] The National Institute for Lifelong Education said on the 26th that it had participated in a career experience festival held on the 23rd and 24th at Banghwa Neighborhood Park in Gangseo-gu, Seoul, where it introduced the value of lifelong education to young people and parents.
The institute shared that, as jobs and industrial environments change rapidly due to artificial intelligence (AI) and digital transformation, career exploration should not end with a single choice but lead to ongoing learning and skills development. It also emphasized the need for lifelong learning throughout one’s life.
The event, hosted by Gangseo-gu and organized by the Gangseo Career and Vocational Experience Support Center, was the 13th Dream Job and the 9th Parents’ Career Job with Their Children. About 6,500 people, including elementary, middle and high school students and parents, took part. A total of 151 hands-on booths were set up across four fields: AI and the Future, Sensibility, Korean Traditional Culture, and Specialized/Special.
The institute opened a promotional booth under the theme “In the AI Era, Designing the Future Through Lifelong Education” and introduced the importance of lifelong education and its major programs. It also explained lifelong education specialists and lifelong education to first-year students at Baekseok Middle School.
Kim Wol-yong, president of the National Institute for Lifelong Education, said, “In the AI era, the ability to adapt to change and continually develop one’s potential is just as important as learning new technologies.” Kim added, “I hope this event will give young people an opportunity to discover their dreams for the future and offer parents meaningful time to reflect on their own learning alongside their children’s growth.”
