Hana Asset Management Company Ltd. said on the 26th that it will launch a new 1Q U.S. AI Tech Platform TOP 10 ETF on the 27th.
The fund selects and invests in 10 leading U.S. technology companies across five areas: AI platforms and models, AI applications and agents, AI security, AI data management, and cloud and AI infrastructure.
The underlying index is the iSelect U.S. AI Tech Platform TOP 10 Index. Each stock's weighting is calculated using market capitalization and a keyword score assessing its relevance to AI, with each accounting for 50%.
As of the end of last month, Alphabet Class A had the largest weighting at 23.98%, followed by Microsoft at 22.99%, Amazon at 17.09% and Meta at 11.88%. Palantir, Snowflake, CrowdStrike, Palo Alto Networks, Cloudflare and Datadog are also included.
A process is also in place to quickly reflect any major AI companies that list on a U.S. stock exchange in the future. If their inclusion is approved after they meet the eligibility criteria and undergo review by the index committee, they will be added in installments over the three business days following their listing.
Kim Tae-woo, CEO of Hana Asset Management Company Ltd., said, “The growth of the AI industry is creating new investment opportunities not only through technology development, but also as AI is applied to real-world services and work.” He added, “The fund is designed to include both companies that develop AI models and platform companies needed to use AI, such as those in data and security, enabling investment in the AI ecosystem’s medium- to long-term growth.”
