[Financial News] The duty-free industry is expanding its range of Korean products amid a rise in foreign tourists visiting Korea and the popularity of K-culture. Lotte Duty Free is working to broaden foreign tourists’ access to domestic products, from K-food to tourism souvenirs.
According to industry sources on the 26th, Lotte Duty Free recently opened a Pulmuone brand shop at its Gimpo Airport branch and began selling K-food products such as kimchi, seaweed, soups and stews. It had earlier added domestic food brands including Lotte Hotel Kimchi, ARIH (Ari) and Seja Coffee.
The Pulmuone brand shop sells stir-fried kimchi, packaged kimchi, Hanwoo beef bone soup and beef radish soup, among other products. To make them easier for travelers to carry, kimchi and soups and stews are offered mainly in packages of around 500 grams. The shop also offers seaweed gift sets, sandwich wafers, sesame oil and perilla oil.
On the 23rd, the Jeju Branch opened the Korea Tourism Organization’s ‘K-SOUVENIR’ tourism souvenir brand store, the first of its kind in the duty-free industry. It sells 21 items among the winners in the souvenir category of the ‘2026 Korea Tourism Contest,’ including Jeju Dasi Flower Meljeot Powder, a Jeju Island Dongjaseok Doorstopper, an Eoheung Sticker Pack and a Gamtae Dessert Set.
This year, Lotte Duty Free is participating as a sponsor of the Korea Tourism Contest and supporting the discovery and distribution of tourism souvenirs.
A Lotte Duty Free representative said, “We continue to identify products and support their placement in stores so that duty-free shops can establish themselves as retail channels connecting outstanding domestic brands with global tourists. Going forward, we will continue to introduce competitive flagship Korean products and create opportunities to grow alongside brands.”
