[Financial News] NH Investment & Securities recorded cumulative net income of 1.3489 trillion won through the third quarter of this year, surpassing its full-year result for last year.
NH Investment & Securities said its consolidated net income for the third quarter of this year rose 35.5% from the same period a year earlier to 383.6 billion won. Its cumulative return on equity (ROE) through the third quarter was 17.6%.
In the third quarter, brokerage revenue declined somewhat from the previous quarter, due to a decrease in domestic stock trading value and a base effect from the strong results in the preceding quarter. However, compared with the same period a year earlier, net income, operating profit and net operating revenue all posted double-digit growth.
In investment banking (IB), the company ranked first as lead manager for corporate bonds and bonds issued by specialized credit finance companies, and second in IPO underwriting. The asset management division maintained a conservative investment stance in response to increased market volatility, including rising interest rates and falling stock markets, and focused on protecting earnings.
Equity capital rose to 11 trillion won, strengthening the company’s foundations for medium- to long-term growth, including its comprehensive investment account (IMA) business.
NH Investment & Securities plans to expand corporate financing through its IMA business and enhance its competitiveness in customer asset management. It also plans to strengthen collaboration across business divisions, including wealth management (WM), IB and asset management, to improve its ability to respond to market volatility and build a stable earnings structure.
