[Financial News] Taekwang Industrial and Daehan Synthetic Fiber are expanding the scope of their eco-friendly textile development from recycled yarns to bio-based materials. They will use their nylon and polyester production technologies to increase the use of eco-friendly raw materials, and are also considering adopting recycling technology that turns discarded textiles back into yarn.
Taekwang Industrial and Daehan Synthetic Fiber said on the 26th that they would expand materials development, focusing on their eco-friendly yarn brand ACEPORA-ECO.
ACEPORA-ECO is a textile brand the two companies jointly developed in 2019, producing nylon and polyester materials using recycled raw materials. The companies plan to diversify their product range, including by adding bio-based raw materials to their existing recycled materials.
Taekwang Industrial will broaden the scope of its eco-friendly materials development based on its nylon yarn production technology. It plans to expand development beyond “pre-consumer” materials that use byproducts generated during manufacturing and “post-consumer” materials that recover resources from waste after use, to include bio-based materials.
Daehan Synthetic Fiber will pursue materials development using its polyester production technology and specialized spinning equipment, including composite spinning equipment. In particular, it will examine the potential use of Bio PET, a bio-based raw material, and plans to broaden the range of material applications by combining it with its existing specialized spinning technology.
The companies are also examining the potential application of T2T (Textile to Textile) technology, which recycles discarded textiles to produce new textiles. They plan to explore establishing a circular resource system spanning the recovery of raw materials through to the production of regenerated yarn.
A spokesperson for Taekwang Industrial and Daehan Synthetic Fiber said, “We plan to continue strengthening the diversity of eco-friendly materials and the competitiveness of our products through ongoing research and development (R&D) and an expanded materials portfolio.”
