According to the financial sector on the 26th, the cumulative number of customers issued Toss Bank’s K-Pass debit card, launched last February, surpassed 700,000. The total amount of government transportation fare refunds paid to customers through Toss Bank reached 32.2 billion won.
Toss Bank allows customers to complete K-Pass membership registration and card registration while applying for a card. This reduces the hassle of having to register on a separate website or app after the card is issued. In fact, 97% of customers who linked their K-Pass account after receiving a card completed registration within the Toss app.
It also offers an “Easy Transfer” feature for customers who used K-Pass with another card. They can change their registered card in the Toss app, and their previous ride history is included in the total so that refunds continue. About 90,000 customers have switched from another card to Toss Bank.
Additional transportation cashback is provided regardless of spending on card payments in the previous month. Customers who spend at least 40,000 won per month on public transportation get 2,000 won back, separate from the government refund. This is paid separately from the government refund. Customers can also receive the Toss Bank debit card’s basic cashback (Switch Cashback), which applies to everyday purchases.
Among young people, use by 19-year-olds—who are eligible for K-Pass refunds for the first time—stood out. A total of 9.3% of the nationwide population aged 19 were found to hold a Toss Bank K-Pass card.
A Toss Bank representative said, “We will continue to innovate so that customers can use the financial services they rely on every day more easily and conveniently.”
Meanwhile, Toss Bank launched its K-Pass debit card under the name “Commuters Club.” It reinterpreted the everyday lives of customers who repeatedly use public transportation as a routine for building the inner strength to move forward, and brought together those who continue that journey under the Commuters Club brand.
