[Financial News] Shinhan Investment & Securities has strengthened its financial services for minor children, covering everything from opening accounts to investing and asset management.
Amid rising demand for asset management using accounts held in children’s names, the company has simplified the account-opening process and improved its services so parents can view and manage their children’s financial assets in one place.
Shinhan Investment & Securities said on the 26th that it had comprehensively revamped its remote account-opening and asset-management services for minor customers. The company focused on drawing on the asset-management expertise built up by Shinhan Premier for services to minors, creating an experience that extends from opening an account to viewing investment information and managing assets.
It first introduced a scraping feature to the remote account-opening process. The feature automatically verifies family-relationship documents required to open an account, reducing the burden on customers of preparing and submitting paperwork and shortening the time needed to open an account. The company also improved its guidance system so applicants can easily check the status of their applications.
The company also launched “Asset Management for My Child,” a service that lets parents view their children’s financial assets in one place. By linking a child’s account through a parent’s account, users can see key information—including balances, asset holdings and investment status—on a single screen. The service is designed to reduce the inconvenience of having to switch between multiple accounts and screens to check a child’s assets.
The service also provides investment information and financial content to help with children’s investing and asset management. Frequently used features for parents managing their children’s accounts have been brought together in a dedicated menu for parents, along with related content and frequently asked questions (FAQs).
The company also expanded its guidance on delegated orders and FAQs covering topics that generate many customer inquiries. It said it had improved accessibility so parents can more easily understand the features and procedures they need when managing their children’s accounts after opening them.
The service revamp is seen as an effort to go beyond simply opening accounts for minor children and link them to subsequent investment and asset management. The aim is to support customers’ long-term use of financial services by enhancing not only the convenience of opening accounts but also features that let them continually monitor and manage their children’s assets.
A Shinhan Investment & Securities official said, “Demand for financial services for minor children is expanding beyond account opening into investment and asset management,” adding, “We will continue to enhance related services so customers can manage their children’s financial assets more efficiently.”
