[Financial News] A heartwarming story has emerged of a luxury wallet lost at a concert attended by tens of thousands of people being returned to its owner by mail ten days later.
Louis Vuitton wallet lost at concert... lands right in mailbox ten days later
According to Yonhap News TV on the 26th, A lost a Louis Vuitton card wallet at pop star The Weeknd’s concert in Korea, held on the 8th at the main stadium of Goyang Stadium in Gyeonggi Province. With so many people in attendance, A thought it would be difficult to get the wallet back and was in the process of replacing their cards and ID and looking for a new wallet.
But ten days later, on the 18th, the lost wallet was in A’s mailbox at home. The sender was B, who lives in Gimpo, Gyeonggi Province. After checking the address on the driver’s license inside the wallet, B mailed it to its owner, A, and paid the postage out of pocket.
A posted on social media (SNS), “They even paid to mail it out of their own pocket. That’s enough to recharge your faith in humanity for years,” and tried to track B down. A later said they mailed a handwritten letter and a thank-you gift on the 25th.
“Thank you for finding my wallet”: A handwritten letter and a thank-you gift in return
In the letter, A expressed their gratitude, writing, “First, I want to express my sincere thanks. I was deeply upset, thinking I had lost my wallet for good, and I can’t tell you how happy I was to get it back like this. I was also deeply moved by your warm and generous gesture of paying the postage yourself to send it to me.” A added, “Along with the joy of getting my wallet back, being able to feel the warmth of our society’s civic spirit and humanity made this an even more meaningful experience.”
A went on to write, “I sincerely thank you, and I will remember your kindness for a long time. I truly wish you health and happiness every day. Thank you so much.”
B also left a comment after seeing A’s post.
B said, “I’ve lost a wallet before, too, so I knew how devastated you must feel, and I hurried to send it. I actually meant to send it anonymously, but the postal clerk said the sender’s name and address had to be included, so I had no choice but to write them down. I didn’t know it would come back to me in such a moving way.” B added, “I think I’ll savor this wonderful feeling through October—or rather, until the end of this year, which is nearly over.”
People who read the story reacted with comments such as, “Our society is still a place worth living in,” “You two are both wonderful,” “The world is still warm,” and “You did a good deed, so you’ll be blessed many times over.”
