According to local media and other sources on the 26th, the event, hosted by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism and organized by the Korea Creative Content Agency (KOCCA), was held from the 20th to the 22nd at GEM Center in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam. Forty-five K-content companies took part in export consultations and business activities targeting the Southeast Asian market.
By sector, there were 20 animation and character companies, 10 broadcasting and media companies, and 15 companies in comics, webtoons, games and music.
At the event’s flagship program, the B2B 1:1 export consultation session, business meetings were actively held between participating Korean companies and Vietnamese and global buyers. Each meeting lasted 40 minutes per session, allowing for in-depth presentations of works, gauging purchase interest and discussions of practical opportunities for cooperation. This helped identify the latest demand in the Vietnamese market and gave local buyers an opportunity to find outstanding Korean partners in entertainment, media and digital content. In particular, connections between companies were not limited to the three days of the event. The process took place in three stages—advance matchmaking before the event, on-site consultations and follow-up support afterward—to help build long-term partnerships between companies.
In addition to programs for businesses, a range of Korean cultural experience events—including a K-makeover show, K-pop cover dance, random play dance and exhibition booths featuring popular animations and characters—were held to an enthusiastic response from local visitors. Participating companies were able to observe visitors’ reactions and experiences firsthand, learn about Vietnamese consumers’ tastes, and assess interest in and the commercial potential of K-content products in the local market.
