Young people can find government support policies in areas such as housing, finance and employment all in one place on Government24. They can check eligibility and how to apply without having to visit each government ministry's website individually.
The Ministry of the Interior and Safety said on the 26th that its youth interns had used Government24 to find and introduce support policies needed by young people their own age.
Key housing support policies include the Youth Housing Dream Subscription Account and Bus House. Young people aged 19 to 34 who own no home and have annual incomes of 50 million won or less can open a Youth Housing Dream Subscription Account, and the income threshold is expected to be raised to 70 million won or less. Bus House is a program that provides rental housing at below-market rates to young people and others who meet income and asset criteria.
In finance, people can also find information about programs such as Youth Future Savings, which provides a government contribution of 6% or 12% of the amount deposited when participants save up to 500,000 won per month for three years.
Programs introduced in the employment category included the Youth Challenge Support Program, which provides counseling, employment skills programs and participation allowances to young people who have given up looking for work, among others, and the Youth Work Experience Support Program, which allows young people to gain practical experience at companies.
The Ministry of the Interior and Safety also added a feature providing information on youth support programs to Government24's “Life and Family Guide” menu. This allows users to find in one place youth employment support programs that had been scattered across various organizations.
Hwang Gyu-cheol, director of the Ministry of the Interior and Safety's Office of AI Government, said, "Going forward, we will use AI technology to provide guidance on government support policies more accurately and easily, from the public's perspective."
