[Financial News] Deepnoid is set to explore the market as it seeks to expand into the defense sector its artificial intelligence (AI) X-ray screening technology, which it has applied to airport security screening. The company will showcase its solution for the first time at an aviation, defense and logistics expo and discuss potential applications with prospective customers.
According to AI software company Deepnoid on the 26th, the company will take part in the 2026 Aviation, Defense & Logistics Expo (GADLEX 2026), which will be held at GUMICO in Gumi, North Gyeongsang Province, from the 28th to the 30th.
The product on display is SkyMARU DEEP:SECURITY, an AI solution for automatically detecting threat items. It can detect 20 types of threat items in X-ray images, including firearms, ammunition, explosives and bladed weapons, as well as six types of information-security threat items, including USB drives and external storage devices. The company also plans to demonstrate its open architecture, which can integrate with existing security screening equipment; an integrated control function for managing multiple sites; and a recheck function that relays screening results to staff conducting follow-up inspections.
A key test of the company’s prospects in the defense sector is whether it can adapt its detection functions to real-world operations and procurement requirements. Adoption decisions may depend not only on compatibility with existing equipment but also on managing false positives and false negatives and fitting the system into screening staff’s workflows. A key question at the expo is whether Deepnoid can turn its experience operating airport security systems into concrete business opportunities in the defense sector.
An industry source said, “For AI in security screening to lead to actual adoption, it must not only detect threats but also integrate smoothly with existing equipment and fit the on-site staff’s recheck procedures and operating standards.”
Deepnoid plans to hold business meetings with prospective customers in the aviation and defense sectors during the expo. At the 2026 Aviation Security Forum on the 30th, it will give a presentation titled “Leading the Localization of Security Equipment with AI.” The event brings together airport operators, including Korea Airports Corporation (KAC) and Incheon International Airport Corporation, as well as related companies.
Deepnoid CEO Choi Woo-sik emphasized, “We will seek opportunities to collaborate so that the AI screening capabilities we have built up in airport security operations can also be applied to security screening needs in the defense sector.”
Deepnoid said it had supplied the solution to domestic institutions, including corporate research institutes and airports, and was also pursuing entry into airport security markets in Southeast Asia and the Middle East. The company plans to exhibit the solution and hold discussions with prospective customers at the expo; it has not yet disclosed any specific supply results in the defense sector.
